Our story
Some places you pass through.
Others keep you.
I studied banking. After university I took the job many people want: stable, clear, every step already planned.
Then, one trip to Phú Quốc.
Back then the island was a different place. The roads were still dirt. There were few resorts, and none of the towers you see now. I rented a small room and lived like an islander.
What made me stay wasn't only the sea.
- It was the evenings sitting in front of Bãi Trường, watching the sun go down.
- The bún lady who remembered I like extra spring onion.
- The fisherman carrying in a catch straight off the boat.
- The easy hellos between people who had never met.
I realised I no longer wanted to leave.
So I set down my banking career and began a new life.
Why Luna exists
Luna was born from something very simple.
I didn't build Luna to make a big hotel.
I only wanted to make a place you'd remember after you left.
- A quiet room after a day spent exploring the island.
- A pointed-out local eatery, better than any expensive restaurant.
- The feeling of being welcomed like a friend dropping by.
If there's anything special about Luna, it isn't the building.
It's the people inside it.
The name
Why Luna Oriental?
“Luna” is the moon. “Oriental” is the East.
In Vietnamese culture, the moon is tied to familiar things: the harvest, reunion, full-moon nights, the sound of festival drums, and the patterns carved into bronze drums thousands of years ago.
We don't try to recreate the past with walls or ornaments. We only hope to keep a little of that spirit.
A sense of calm.A sense of welcome.
And the feeling that, wherever you come from, this place can still make you feel you belong.
The small things
Every bit of care begins with something small.
- A pillow that's just soft enough.
- Light gentle enough to read a few pages before sleep.
- An umbrella for the sudden rain.
- A QR code that leads you to where the locals actually eat.
Some of these you won't remember.
But they're often what becomes the ease you carry home after the trip.
